The gray whales are here and many have already been spotted passing by Cabrillo National Monument on their annual migration from Alaska to Baja. Join us at 2 p.m. on Thursday, 21 January 2016 in the park auditorium for this exciting lecture by Dr. Steven Swartz to learn about where they are headed and what they do in the lagoons in Baja California.
Dr. Swartz’s book Lagoon Time, is an extraordinary first-hand account of the experiences and discoveries made by him and his colleagues in San Ignacio Lagoon, Baja California Sur, Mexico, that provides visitors a look into the human and natural history of Laguna San Ignacio. It is also a field guide to gray whale behavior and the diverse botanical and avian wildlife in the area.
Copies will be available for purchase at the Cabrillo bookstore. Book signing to follow lecture.
