Naturally Speaking Series – The Great Migration – Gray Whales from Alaska to Baja

This a hybrid event – in-person in the auditorium (masks are optional) as well as a free event on Zoom.

Which mammals have the longest annual migration in the world? The Eastern Pacific Gray Whale (Eschrichtius robustus) travels all the way from Alaska to Baja California (and back again) every year – but why? Join marine biologist Sarah Taber as she shares more on Gray Whales, and what one might expect to see as they migrate through San Diego on their way to and from their breeding/calving lagoons. 

When: Thursday, January 19th, 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Where: Cabrillo National Monument auditorium and Zoom

  1. Hello, Rangers. I want so badly to hear this lecture and I’d be up there in person on Thursday evening, but that’s the same night as the OBHS lecture, and I need to attend. So, will the lecture be available to be seen online after the fact?

    1. Yes, it will be recorded and be available a few days after the event. You will be able to find it on the YouTube Cabrillo site and the CNMF site.
