Fireworms are mating!

If you are interested in watching small worms mating & glowing like green light sticks now is the season. VIP Mary has selected September 9th for the more intense light show. These fireworms or glowworms, Odontosyllis phosphorea, swim up from the bottom to mate on the surface water for half an hour. When thousands of these worms glow, it makes for a wonderful show!

September 9 meet at 6:45 pm at De Anza Cove LAUNCH PIER. This is just North of Superbloom Coffee & juice (old information visitor center).
 
The worms show half hour to 40 minutes after sunset, which occurs at 7:02pm.

A Map for the event is shown below. If interested, she have a few show and tell items to explain bioluminescence and how many objects, chemicals, and products give off a different glow of phosphorescence & chemiluminescence.
