February’s Featured Volunteer is Dan Zeller.
Dan’s a relative newcomer, starting in May 2013, but since then, he’s jumped into Cabrillo National Monument with both feet.
He started in the Visitor Center, learning about all that the park had to offer, and by June, he was being trained on the Lighthouse Information Station.
September, was a busy month for Dan doing Community Outreach at the Festival of Sail and San Diego Museum Council Museum Mash-Up; supporting the Centennial Celebration committee getting the word out to the residents of South Bay; and getting trained in the finer points of TPERP.
Dan’s passion is fast becoming the lighthouse. He authored a paper, “An Overview of the Old Point Loma Lighthouse” that will be included in the next E-binder update. He’s also done some behind-the-scenes data collection and analysis; assisted with new volunteer orientation; and is pretty handy at creating blogs like the VIP Voice.
We’re glad to have Dan on the CNM VIP team.
