We need linen tea towels to clean the lens in the lantern room of the Old Point Loma Lighthouse. Linen was always used by lighthouse keepers; it doesn’t scratch glass and leaves no streaks. Karen and Kim, our lens caretakers (and so much more) said, “Our grandmothers would be tickled to know how useful theirs have been after nearly 15 years in the lighthouse, yet, our collection is beginning to look like these below.”
If you have any old all-linen (no cotton) tea towels, please consider donating them to the park to help preserve the lens. The linen tea towels can also be found in thrift shops.
