We want to say thank you to everyone who helped out last Sunday. Park rangers and staff, SDFD firefighters, lifeguards along with Federal Fire, US Coast Guard, Customs and Border Protection and other local agencies worked together on this incident. But that wasn’t all. We also had amazing park volunteers and Good Samaritan visitors who also jumped in to assist. Your quick actions helped save lives.
You all did an amazing job not only rescuing people but rescuing the tidepools as well.
The tidepools remain closed while cleanup continues and the damage is assessed.
You are all heroes and we thank every one of you.
Heroes indeed! WELL DONE FOLKS!

Just finished a Homeland Security interview which included giving two agents a tour of the tidepool area and I want to give a “Shout Out” to the cleanup crew. The whole zone 1 area south of the entrance looks fantastic. Bravo Zulu to those involved.
