Thank you VIPs Greg, Dave, Gene and Rise for helping with the Monument planting event last week. They installed 54 plants around the base of the statue. So far, there are no rodent causalities to report! They couldn’t have hoped for better post-planting weather with thunderstorms Tuesday night and drizzly overcast days the following few days.

The next early bird planting session will be happening on Tuesday Oct 25, from 7-9am at the entry station. Patricia will also schedule an additional planting session in November down on the coastal trail. Stay tuned!

If you are interested in getting involved with native plants at Cabrillo or would like to help with plantings, send an email to cabr_volunteers@nps.gov.
