Training Opportunity – Visitor Center

On Saturday July 13 at 10:00 am Ranger Elizabeth, Ranger Julieanne and Community Volunteer Ambassador Setara will be hosting a Visitor Center Training.
This is an opportunity for current VC volunteers, new VC volunteers, or people who are interested in working the desk to come together and gets some hands-on training. Everyone is welcome! It will last one hour and coffee and donuts will be provided.

We will cover the following topics:

  • NEW Every Kid in a Park (Free 4th grade pass) activity for kids to earn their pass at the desk!
  • NEW Accessible Wayside books – tactile books with “LiveScribe” Audio pens for people who are blind to enjoy our new waysides. We will show everyone how to use them!
  • Customer Service Training
  • Safety Updates
  • And More!

Please RSVP by contacting the Park. Feel free to bring a friend even if they aren’t an official volunteer yet.

Do you have an idea for other topics that should be addressed in this training or future trainings? Please send your ideas or comments to Elizabeth or Setara.
We will host another VC training in August for people who cannot attend this one.
We are looking for more help on the VC desk, especially on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

  1. The training sounds interesting g and valuable to have. Unfortunately we are both out of town on a trip until 7/19 or 7/20. Would definitely be interested in signing up for similar training if it is offered again in Late July, Aug., or September.

    Thanks, Carol & Larry Holt

  2. I am scheduled to work the VC desk from 9 to 1 o’clock and will try to attend some of the new training and refresher course. Kristina Haynes
