Lighthouse at night lit up with purple and gold with slideshow displayed on side of building.

Forward into Light Revisited

For those of you who were unable to attend the Forward into Light event celebrating the centennial of the 19th amendment, we have brought the event to you. The event was well received at the park occurring over four nights.

Ranger Julieanne put together a slideshow which was shown during the event on the side of the lighthouse. We are providing that slideshow as a pdf file that you can download and view.

Ranger Elizabeth said:

I want to thank you all for your support of the Forward Into Light event. A special thank you to all the VUAs, maintenance, law enforcement, volunteers, and interpretation staff who stayed late to make this happen, and to CNMF and the Women’s Museum of California for partnering with us to provide event supplies and marketing. And for all those who could not attend but provided their support behind the scenes, thank you!

The event was well-received by the public. We illuminated the lighthouse from August 21 – 23 and August 26, reaching approximately 650 visitors in person total for all four nights. Online, our social media series about women’s history reached over 200,000 people.

A visitor also provided a link to a timelapse video on Instagram:

Here is a sample of photos by several VIPs capturing the lighthouse in all its glory. Thank you to all for sharing.
